When volunteer surf lifesavers raise the red and yellow flags each morning ready for patrol, they prepare themselves to go into battle at any moment. Saving lives can be likened to going into battle; surf lifesavers rely upon their training, lifesaving equipment and rescue instinct to respond in an emergency, not knowing exactly what they will be faced with.

How do schools provide swimming and water safety programs?

A range of options and resources are available for schools to deliver swimming and water safety education which can be found here.
