Life Saving Victoria takes seriously its responsibility to deliver a safe, fair and inclusive environment for Children and Young People involved in lifesaving. 

It’s everyone’s responsibility at Life Saving Victoria to understand and comply with Surf Life Saving Australia’s (our National Body) child safe guidelines.

Child Safe Commitment Statement

We are committed to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all Children and Young People who are involved in lifesaving. Our policies and procedures seek to address risks to child safety and to establish child safe culture and practices in line with the Principles for Child Safe Organisations.
Child Safe Policy
This Child Safe Policy aims to assist us to uphold our responsibility to create a safe, fair and inclusive environment for all Children & Young People.
Child Safe Commitment Statement
We are committed to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all Children & Young People (CYP) who are involved in lifesaving. The SLSA Board endorses the Child Safe commitment to keeping CYP safe from abuse and neglect.
Youth Commitment Statement
LSV additionally has a Youth Commitment Statement, which is an annexure to the SLSA Child Safe commitment.
Child Safe Guideline
The Child Safe Guidelines have been developed to assist all Surf Life Saving clubs and members to meet their obligations, specifically relating to children and young people, under the Surf Life Saving Australia Child Safe Policy.

Have concerns about a child’s safety? If the matter is urgent or the safety, health or welfare of a child or victim is at risk please call the Police emergency number 000.
Selecting a Safe Club
Choosing a club for your child/young person can involve lots of questions. The most important question a parent/guardian should ask is: How will your club keep my child/young person safe?
