This event held annually recognises and acknowledges the outstanding achievements, contribution, and commitment that our people make to their clubs, communities and LSV. 

These achievements reflect LSV’s purpose as a vital rescue, emergency, and community service organisation and emphasises our people’s actions position the movement as a valued and beloved organisation across the state of Victoria.

Life Members & Commonwealth Honours
Life Members

Life Saving Victoria Life membership recognises those individual members who's volunteering has rendered a distinguished, sustained, and conspicuous service to LSV over a period of at least fifteen years. 

“Life Members are volunteers who have dedicated themselves to lifesaving, providing education, emergency care, and mentoring for our future lifesavers. We are enormously appreciative of them for their commitment and service to their community.” - Catherine Greaves, CEO. 

Commonwealth Honours

The Australian Honours and Awards system recognises the outstanding service and contributions of Australians. Recipients come from right across the country and from all walks of life. While some are well-known, the majority are unsung heroes.
Whilst typically they haven’t sought thanks or recognition, they deserve both. The Honours and Awards system gives the nation a chance to celebrate and acknowledge those who work tirelessly to improve local communities and to make Australia a better place.

Our annual International Women’s Day Breakfast event awards and celebrates the amazing breadth of women, impacting lifesaving across the state. 

We ask for outstanding contribution nominations to showcase the female influence in our organisational success. Awards include:

  • Emerging Leaders (16-30 years)
  • Senior Leaders (30+ years)
  • Trailblazer awards

Valuing Volunteers

The annual Valuing Volunteers Event recognises and celebrates the efforts of grassroots volunteers across lifesaving. The Valuing Volunteers Event, held during National Volunteers Week, is an opportunity to showcase the vital contributions of our members who have provided volunteer service to their club, area or state. Awards include the State Service Recognition and Significant Contribution.

Life Saving Victoria and the lifesaving movement are built on the skill, dedication and selflessness of those who give their time in service to the people of Victoria.  

We celebrate the achievements of our people, acknowledge their extraordinary capabilities, showcase our values and give thanks for the immense efforts of our volunteers, employees and partners. 

LSV has adopted a range of awards to recognise and acknowledge the outstanding contributions made by our people. These awards are designed to recognise those who have devoted their time, energy and expertise to LSV’s objective to save lives and empower communities to safely enjoy water.
